Situated in a quiet corner of an organic dairy farm, the houses have been refurbished to a high standard. It is the ideal location for holiday with a difference. Visitors can experience the joys of harvesting fresh fruit and vegetables in season all totally organic since 2003.

The guesthouse is small and quiet – the perfect place to relax and observe the Italian countryside, between Gubbio and Assisi. The farm is situated below rolling hills a rich habitat for flora and fauna. Nature reserves, footpaths and historic churches (Assisi). Gubbio is known as one of the best kept medieval villages in Umbria. Agriturismo Caresto nestling into the hill with its thick stone walls, provides a comfortable hideaway in the landscape. The setting, on the valley is remote and tranquil. A short flight of steps leads down the house for breakfast , with views over the surrounding countryside (In front of us we can admire two castles: Biscina and Giomici). An area of garden is available to sit and enjoy the views, or for breakfast outside. You can buy organic food, and home grown vegetables may be available in season for purchase from the owners’ nearby garden. Spring water. Good walking and wildlife watching with excellent panoramic views in the surrounding area.

A hearty breakfast, including homemade marmelade and bread, is made from our organic produce preserves using our own fruit. We pride ourselves on the careful preparation of our products with the result being an amazing taste. All our products are hand made using the very best, fresh ingredients. So we pride ourselves on the quality and taste of our handmade marmelade. Marmelades are delicious with cold meats or salads, available in a range of varieties (cherry, strawberry, plum, fig, carrot, elder, cornelian).
Please feel free to use cherry, plum elder and fig orchard. Absence of light pollution ensures clear starlit skies. You can explore the farm’s nature walks and discover its hidden gems.
