Festivals and Events:
Perugia is famous in the world for it summer Festival Umbria Jazz (beginning of July) and harvest festivals (Sagras ), the International Music festival in September and the Chocolate Festival at the end of October.

Sagra is an event with culinary speciality such as Sagra dei Porcini (mushrooms), Sagra del Castagno (chestnuts), Sagra della Torta (Umbrian flat bread), Sagra della Porchetta (roasted suckling pig), Sagra del Cinghiale (wild boar).

Gubbio: is a well kept medieval town at 20 mins, is famous for its candle carrying ceremony, la Festa dei Ceri, a special event. Every year on May 15th, the vigil of the feast day of St Ubaldo the town’s patron saint and bishop, and the Palio della Balestra, the last Sunday in May (Medieval Archery Competition between the towns of Gubbio and San Sepolcro)
And for Christmas a giant Christmas tree illumines the hill.

Perugia (40 mins): is the capital of Umbria.

Assisi (20 mins): town of St Francis, where you can admire the wonderful fresco painting of Giotto, Calendimaggio procession , the first Thursday, Friday and Saturday after the 1st of May to celebrate the arrival of Spring.

Spello (30 mins): a charming medieval village with great views of the olive’s valley.

Spoleto (60 mins): a beautiful old Umbrian town rich in history and architecture ,and the famous Festival dei due Mondi.

Orvieto (70 mins): an Etruscan town built on tufa crag .
Florence (2 hours) : the town of the Italian Renaissance .

Siena (1.5 hours): town of  the famous Palio, annual horse race the 14th of August .

Rome and Vatican City: by train, (2,5 hours), by car (2 hours).

In Umbria we have two National Parks, Monte Sibillini ( Norcia) and Monte Subasio (Assisi).

Cantine Aperte an another special event! (free wine tasting and food – open cellars in Umbria) all Cantinas are open to the public; last Sunday in May.
